The conclusions made in the monograph convince us that the events and phenomena of the medieval era must be studied carefully and in view of the present. This will give us a better understanding of why rumors continue to play an extremely important role in our information age, both in manipulating the public consciousness and in mobilizing people’s energy in a certain direction.
