Vesela Katsarova

Vesela Katsarova is literary translator, Professor of English literature, Department of English and American Studies, Sofia University, Bulgaria. Graduated from Sofia University, Department of English Philology (1967); delivered lectures as a Fulbright scholar in Northwestern University, USA (2000); delivered lectures in the University at Albany, USA (2005); president of the Bulgarian Society for British Studies (2002-6). Major academic books: “The English Female Tradition: George Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Doris Lessing”, “My Country is the Whole World: Women in Bulgarian and Anglo-American Literature” (in English and Bulgarian), “From Neo-Victorianism to Postmodernism: Angus Wilson”, “English Fiction in the 1970s: Susan Hill and the Problem of Alienation”.
