Alexandra Bagasheva

Alexandra Bagasheva is a principal lecturer in General Linguistics and Psycholinguistics at the Department of English and American Studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She has taught various linguistic and general English courses. She has participated in a number of conferences and workshops devoted to different aspects of the study of languages and the teaching of linguistics in academic context. She is the author of a comparative study of English and Bulgarian compound verbs. She has published articles in prestigious journals among which Poznań Studies in Contemporary Linguistics, Linguistica, Lexis, etc. She is one of the authors of the new Bulgarian-English Dictionary (Naouka i izkustvo 2009) and the forthcoming English-Bulgarian Dictionary with the same publishing house. She is a member of the International Cognitive Linguistics Association, the UK Cognitive Linguistics Association, the Bulgarian American Studies Association, and the Bulgarian Association for British Studies.
