Ralitsa Muharska
Ralitsa Muharska is a lecturer in American Studies at the Department of English and American Studies of Sofia University. Among the courses she teaches are Cultural History of the US; Gender, Power and Communication; Narratives of the Future (Science Fiction). Her main areas of interest are American literary Modernism, as well as early 20th century culture in general, gender theory – particularly queer and camp as cultural phenomena, and the analytical potential of queer theory. She participated as editor, co-editor and translator of the first two collections of translated cornerstone texts of feminist theory in Bulgarian, Women’s Time (1997) and Feminist Knowledge (2002). She edited the first collection of original scholarship based on feminist theory in Bulgarian, Mothers and Daughters (1999).
