Dr. Kornelia Slavova
Dr. Kornelia Slavova is Professor of American culture and literature at the Department of English and American Studies, University of Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria. She has taught courses in American drama, Drama into Film, Cultural History of the US, American Popular culture, Gender Representation and others at Sofia University, as well as at SUNY Albany, USA; and other institutions. Her publications are in the field of American drama, cross-cultural studies, and gender studies. She has edited and co-edited several books of gender theory and literary criticism; she is the author of The Gender Frontier in Sam Shepard’s and Marsha Norman’s Drama (Polis Publishers, 2002) and The Traumatic Re/Turn of History in Postmodern American Drama (Sofia University Press, 2009) and American Drama on the Bulgarian Stage: Theatre as Translation of Cultures (Polis Publishers, 2014). Since 2008 she is associate editor for The European Journal of Women’s Studies (SAGE).
